James, a proud father of four from Wolverhampton, has spent three decades leading £200M 200 strong sales operations and running his own management consultancy. What sets him apart is his unwavering passion for mountaineering and adventure alongside his business success.

Following his father's footsteps he was educated at Wolverhampton Grammar School moving into banking as a start to his career. Unsure as to his next role change, James explored his options over the next year with travels to California and the French Alps, igniting his love for the mountains.

 

Returning home, he successfully built and ran an advertising agency before diving into the corporate world with Yellow Pages, quickly ascending the ranks.With 25 years of senior sales leadership, James helped spearhead the digital transformation whilst driving business growth and spent time developing future leaders nationwide.

 

In 2019, he leveraged his expertise to establish a consultancy running development programmes on leadership, communication, presentation skills, sales excellence as well as advising on business growth strategies. His clients include schools, call centres and several London and Icelandic tech start ups; he continues to run this on a part time basis contracting with School Heads, CEO's, Boards and Investors.

Higher Educations was born in 2022, enabling James to fulfill his desire to positively influence the younger generation. He enables students to experience an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the world of mountaineering and adventuring. James tells captivating tales of expeditions to the Himalayas, African and Ecuadorian volcanoes, the Alps, and Antarctica.

These engaging sessions are bespoke to each school and are written to support the curriculum, with particular focus on PSHE, including resilience, handling change and effective communication. James is able to lead events ranging from Year 4 group to promote healthy outdoor lives to 6th form discussions on preparing for life after school, all with a backdrop of mountaineering and adventure stories. 

 

Having 4 children that have been through school and two through further education James is incredibly well placed to understand the challenges the younger generation face.

Outside of this busy life, James continues to adventure, with 2024 planned trips already including time in the French Alps, trekking in Corsica, and a possible return to the Himalaya at the end of the year.
